Deb Picard is a lover of melody, harmony and words. She is drawn to and writes songs that often speak of difficult realities but always retain hope for the future. "Beautiful, sad but hopeful" is how she would describe songs she connects with the most. Deb first picked up the guitar as a high school student in New Jersey but started writing her own songs in her mid-20’s after her move to Boston. She thanks her friends Brian Jansen for being one of her first "teachers" of songwriting, and her friend Natali Freed (a member of her former band Hot Lava Mamas) for inspiration, as well. Deb is grateful for the masterful production of her first two EPs by Doug Kwartler of Hollow Body studios in Chelmsford, MA. She currently lives with her husband and three cats in the Boston, MA area. Deb loves singing harmonies and is always open to add some contralto vocals to your project.
